Funding brings total Seed capital raised to more than $13 million and will support product development, commercial expansion and customer adoption
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — EchoTwin AI today announced $5 million in new funding to accelerate commercial expansion and advance its proprietary Physical AI platform for urban infrastructure intelligence.
Investors participating in the round include Gryphon Capital, Automotive Ventures, Black Mountain Ventures and others. The funding brings EchoTwin’s total Seed capital raised to more than $13 million.
EchoTwin combines mobile sensing, computer vision, edge AI, vision-language models and geospatial intelligence to help cities assess infrastructure conditions and turn street-level observations into operational action. By transforming vehicles already operating on city streets into intelligent mobile inspection systems, the platform is designed to help municipalities move from periodic inspections toward a more continuous understanding of roads, infrastructure assets and public spaces.
“Our vision is to give cities a brain for the physical world,” said Dr. Chris Carson, Founder, Global CEO and Chairman of EchoTwin AI. “This funding allows us to advance our technology, expand our commercial reach and help more cities turn everyday observations into informed decisions and timely action.”
Proprietary Physical AI Technology
At the core of EchoTwin’s platform is its patented AI architecture, which combines computer vision with advanced vision-language models to interpret complex urban scenes. Beyond detecting objects and infrastructure defects, the technology is designed to assess the context of each observation, including potential safety implications, severity, applicable regulatory requirements, remediation, and recommended actions.
The platform integrates five proprietary technologies:
• CityVision: Edge AI processing that transforms municipal vehicles into intelligent mobile inspection systems.
• CityVLM: Vision-language intelligence that interprets urban scenes, assesses context and evaluates infrastructure risk and severity.
• CitySync: A geospatial and temporal intelligence layer that organizes observations into an evolving representation of the city.
• CityIQ: An urban world model and AI engine that integrated historical memory to support prioritization, operational decision-making, workflow automation and verification.
• CityView: A unified application for municipal teams to visualize infrastructure conditions, manage observations and coordinate responses.
Together, these technologies form a scalable platform designed to support a broad range of municipal applications without requiring a separate hardware and software system for each use case.
Accelerating Product Development and Commercial Expansion
EchoTwin will use the funding to advance its AI capabilities, expand platform functionality and support customer deployment and adoption. Commercial priorities include deepening customer relationships, building strategic partnerships and entering additional markets.
Product development will focus on connecting infrastructure observations with the workflows municipal teams use to assess, assign, resolve and verify issues. These capabilities are intended to help cities translate an understanding of street conditions into coordinated measurable action.
Building a Global Benchmark for Urban Physical AI
EchoTwin aims to establish a global benchmark for applying Physical AI to infrastructure management. By connecting perception, contextual understanding and operational decision-making within a shared platform, the company seeks to give cities a more consistent and actionable view of their physical environments.
“This round supports the next stage of our growth,” Carson added. “We are building technology that helps cities understand what needs attention, why it matters and what to do next. That is how we see Physical AI becoming an essential part of urban infrastructure.”
